What is Emergency Aid?

Who is entitled to Emergency Aid?

The Emergency Aid is a financial benefit provided by the Federal Government to informal workers, individual micro-entrepreneurs (MEI), self-employed individuals, and the unemployed, and aims emergency protection during the period of coping with the crisis caused by the pandemic.

Attention! To be eligible, all the indicators below must be up to date!

  • To be registered in the CadÚnico (Single Registry for Social Programs), or to register through the website or app;
  • Receive up to R$552.50 (half the minimum wage) per person in the family;
  • Or receive up to R$3,125.00 (3 minimum wages) as total family income;
  • Be over 18 years old;
  • Not having formal employment;
  • Not having an income greater than R$28,559.70 in the year 2018.

Does signing a contract mean losing the Emergency Aid?

People who are eligible for Emergency Aid must meet all the rules mentioned above.

Those who had their emergency aid denied and disagree with the reason given can file an appeal through the Caixa Auxílio Emergencial program itself.
